Whoo, the first installment of Comic Central! I don’t have much time, so I’m only going to focus on one comic: X-Men Legacy.
The torch has been passed from Carey to Gage. Sadly I’m not sure it was such a great thing. With a new creative team (Gage and Baldeon), things seem to not be doing well. Rogue seems to have regressed, seeming to just touch students without asking for their permission to use their powers–not something she did during Carey’s extensive run.
The art isn’t great by any means. It’s not the worst, but it could be better. None of the women are attractive and look like old women. If only the cover artist, Mark Brooks, was doing the interiors.
The story is pretty good, however. An old X-Men enemy, Exodus, has returned to try to force the divided X-Men to reunite. The group fights while trying to prevent the students from finding out. Eventually Wolverine and Rogue convince Exodus to stop, and he comes to the conclusion that Cyclops must be killed to reunite the X-Men.
I’m going to give this title until after the next arc, Avengers vs X-Men tie-in, and see what the third arc is, then decided whether to quit or not.
